Assistant Professor Marquette, MI 49855
The Department of Psychological Science at Northern Michigan University invites applications for a tenure track appointment at the Assistant Professor level in Applied Behavior Analysis. The position will start in August, 2021. This is a campus-based position. This position consists of teaching 12 credit hours per semester, which include practicum courses for supervision of students training to become Board Certified assistant Behavior Analysts or Board Certified Behavior Analysts. Courses to be taught will include applied behavior analysis courses that are part of an approved BACB verified course sequence. Courses may also include those offered for the general psychology curriculum. In addition, the position will include coordination of a verified course sequence and 5-10% local or regional travel for practicum supervision. The faculty member will be required to advise students, engage in scholarly work, and participate in departmental and university service activities. The Department of Psychological Science includes facilities for human and animal research, and has extensive equipment for behavioral and neuroscience studies. The department houses the Behavior Education Assessment and Research (BEAR) Center. The BEAR Center provides Applied Behavior Analysis services for those with Autism and other disorders and serves as a training ground for behavior analysis students. NMU provides research startup funds in addition to opportunities to reduce teaching loads for scholarly or other projects. This position will be responsible for teaching, scholarship, and service respectively in the fields of Clinical Laboratory Science and Diagnostic Genetics. Areas of emphasis will include immunohematology, clinical chemistry, molecular diagnostics but individuals with experience in other CLS disciplines are encouraged to apply. Course assignments will be in both undergraduate and graduate programs. Responsibilities will include: teach (traditional and online courses), participating in curriculum development, scholarly activities, student advisement and recruitment, collaboration with clinical affiliated hospitals, as well as service and professional duties.
