Brief Statement of Duties:
The Department of Psychological Science at Northern Michigan University invites applications for a three year term appointment at the Assistant Professor level in Applied Behavior Analysis. The position will start in August 2025. This is a campus based position.
Duties/Responsibilities: This position includes teaching 12 credit hours per semester, which include courses in the field of Behavior Analysis as well as courses in the general psychology curriculum. In addition, the candidate must have externally-funded salary support that will offset salary at the time of hire. Further, the faculty member will be required to advise students and participate in departmental service activities.
The Department of Psychological Science includes facilities for human and animal research, and has extensive equipment for behavioral and neuroscience research. The department houses the Behavior Education Assessment and Research (BEAR) Center.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must have a doctorate in Behavior Analysis, Psychology, or a closely related field. Candidates must also have certification from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, demonstrated evidence of quality teaching, and evidence of scholarly work. In addition, the candidate must have externally-funded salary support that will offset salary at the time of hire. Licensed Behavior Analyst (state of Michigan)
Required Minimum Work Experience: University-level course instruction in behavior analysis
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, or Attributes Required for Satisfactory Performance of the Position Duties:
Level of experience instructing college-level courses
Level of experience overseeing funded research activities
Additional Desirable Qualifications:
Previous experience teaching behavior analysis and psychology courses
Previous experience mentoring students
Previous experience engaging in university service activities
Previous experience engaging in research in psychological science
