Brief Statement of Duties | |
Brief Statement of Duties: | Primarily responsible for the order, receipt, payments of print and other resources acquired for the library collection. Order and receive all items purchased from acquisitions budget (including but not limited to monographs, serials, standing orders, electronic media, electronic books, DVDs, databases, virtual reality applications). Responsible for management of the collection regarding items not received, lapsed subscriptions, and delivery or payment disputes. Work in consultation with all faculty librarians, primarily with Collection Management Librarian, Cataloging & Metadata Librarian, and Library Director. |

Required Minimum Work Experience: | Three years of progressive office experience with primary duties in accounting or relevant work experience OR an Associate’s Degree or two years’ coursework leading to a Bachelor’s degree. |
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, or Attributes Required for Satisfactory Performance of the Position Duties: | General knowledge of accounting practices, receiving invoices, and processing payment information. Experience with data entry and computerized purchasing systems. Ability to process complex budget/financial actions, including monitoring for suggested improvements to management. Ability to prepare effective and accurate budget and financial reports. Ability to utilize various computer software applications. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Ability to maintain positive interpersonal relationships. Ability to operate office equipment. Ability to keep current documentation on procedures. Ability to provide quality customer service. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Critical thinking skills including logic and reasoning to identify alternative solutions and approaches. Ability to track and make progress on multiple projects. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a diverse and inclusive environment. Additional Desirable Qualifications | |
Additional Desirable Qualifications: | Some college coursework including at least two courses in bookkeeping, accounting and/or financial management. Library acquisitions experience. Familiarity and experience with an integrated library system (ExLibris Alma preferred). Experience using an automated acquisitions system. Knowledge of current trends and best practices in library materials acquisitions. Knowledge of and experience working with Concur and/or Cognos. Experience working with a variety of clientele including vendors. |
