Position Title: Director-Financial Aid

Work Schedule: Typically Monday-Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, with occasional evening and weekend work required.
Salary: Targeted Salary range is $86,240-$97,000
Travel: Less than 10%
Brief Statement of Duties
Brief Statement of Duties: Provide direct leadership of the day-to-day operations of the Financial Aid Department. This includes focusing on electronic processes used in awarding and disbursing federal, state, private, and institutional aid programs (i.e., scholarships, loans, grants, and college work-study) and the monitoring and reconciliation of awards. Responsibilities include assistance in operations, planning and assessment, data analysis and public speaking with internal and external constituencies. Oversee financial aid policy, processes, and procedures and provide leadership in future financial aid strategies.
Minimum Qualifications
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree

Required Minimum Work Experience: Six years of experience working in a Financial Aid Office in a Director/Associate Director/Assistant Director level.
Six years of work experience utilizing financial aid software.
Two years of professional work experience supervising staff, managing budgets, and counseling students regarding financial aid.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, or Attributes Required for Satisfactory Performance of the Position Duties: Thorough knowledge of federal financial aid regulations and financial aid policy, processes, and procedures.
Ability to interpret rules/regulations, and utilize available computing resources to ensure compliance.
Experience administering highly regulated financial aid programs which require exceptional organizational skills.
Advanced knowledge of financial aid-related software, including both federal and institutional/third-party systems.
Strong analytical skills.
Excellent oral and written communication and time management skills.
Ability to accurately and efficiently perform required computerized tasks to include any combination of word processing, spreadsheet, database, e-mail, or web-based applications.
Intermediate knowledge of SQL.
Experience and skill in counseling students, parents, and the community.
Attention to detail.
Ability to deal with difficult situations in a positive manner.
Positive customer service skills and ability to work with diverse populations.
Public speaking skills.
Additional Desirable Qualifications
Additional Desirable Qualifications: Master's Degree preferably in Student Personnel Services, Business, or Higher Education Administrative Leadership.
Experience with Ellucian's Banner software platform.
