The candidate will be housed in the Wellbeing Center and embedded with the Athletic Department to provide specialized support. The role involves delivering comprehensive counseling to NMU students with partial provision of services dedicated to student athletes.
Responsibilities are those of a professional university counseling center clinician and include individual and group therapy, assessment, outreach programming and consultation using a brief therapy model.

The Department of Psychological Science at Northern Michigan University is seeking a Tenure Track Assistant Professor starting in Fall 2025. The on-campus position requires teaching, engaging in creative scholarship, serving on university committees, supervising and/or monitoring graduate practicum experiences, and managing program certification activities. The successful candidate will be able to teach undergraduate and masters-level graduate courses related to clinical psychology, such as Abnormal Psychology, Psychological Assessment, Psychological Interventions, Ethics, and specialty courses in the applicant’s area of expertise.
The Department of Psychological Science maintains a multitude of cutting-edge psychology laboratories, with dedicated research space for each faculty member.
