Brief Statement of Duties: |
This position will be responsible for teaching classes or labs in the Clinical Laboratory Science programs. This position also manages the teaching laboratory and participates in supervision of clinical practicum. The position may also participate in administrative functions of the program to include advertisement, recruitment, applicant review, advisement, collaboration with clinical affiliates, and university service activities. This is a campus-based position. |

Bachelor's Degree |
Discipline / Degree Area: |
Medical Laboratory Sciences or closely related field |
Required Specialized Training/Certifications: |
American Society of Clinical Pathology Technologist/Scientist/Specialist certification or equivalent |
Required Minimum Work Experience: |
Three years' hands on laboratory testing experience in an accredited medical diagnostic laboratory in the last ten years. |
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, or Attributes Required for Satisfactory Performance of the Position Duties: |
Excellent oral and written communication skills and time management skills. Commitment to undergraduate education and demonstrated excellence in teaching. Excellent problem-solving skills. ASCP MLS certification; MS degree (preference given to a CLS or biological science discipline) Laboratory management experience Curriculum development (traditional and online) for undergraduate MLS education; Experience in a NAACLS approved program; Three years of teaching experience; University teaching experience; Online teaching experience; Molecular diagnostics experience. |
