Brief Statement of Duties
Brief Statement of Duties: This position requires teaching 12 credit hours per semester and a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, research and service. This is a campus based position.
Minimum Qualifications
Required Education: Doctorate or equivalent terminal degree
Discipline / Degree Area: Political Science
Required Specialized Training/Certifications: Ph.D. at the time of appointment
Required Minimum Work Experience: Ability to teach comparative politics, international relations, American foreign policy and related areas
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, or Attributes Required for Satisfactory Performance of the Position Duties: Excellent oral and written communication skills and time management skills;
Commitment to undergraduate education and demonstrated excellence in teaching;
Ability to work well with an instructional team, including but not limited to fellow instructors and assistants;
Ability to develop and deliver curriculum;
Ability to meet the demands of the position in a timely manner;
Ability to assess student-learning outcomes;
Ability to manage time;
Commitment to undergraduate education and demonstration of excellence in teaching undergraduate students.
Additional Desirable Qualifications
Additional Desirable Qualifications: Ability to teach a course on a regional areas such as Middle Eastern, South American, African or East-Southeast Asia.
