Brief Statement of Duties
Brief Statement of Duties: This is a tenure track position in Developmental Literacy. This position requires excellence in the teaching of developmental literacy courses and excellence in preparing students to teach developmental literacy courses. It also requires excellence in teaching, professional, scholarly and creative works which contribute to personal and departmental effectiveness. Service to the department and the university is expected. Teach 3/3 load which will include undergraduate development classes and occasional graduate Pedagogy courses, coordinate departmental tutoring efforts and facilitate curriculum development for literacy courses. This is a campus based position.
Minimum Qualifications
Required Education: Doctorate or equivalent terminal degree
Discipline / Degree Area: English
Required Specialized Training/Certifications: Developmental reading and basic writing.
Required Minimum Work Experience: Ph.D. in English by August 2024.
College or university teaching experience.
Demonstrated commitment to scholarship and/or service in developmental reading.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, or Attributes Required for Satisfactory Performance of the Position Duties: Demonstrated commitment to professional/scholarly/ creative engagement and service.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Good interpersonal skills.
Additional Desirable Qualifications
Additional Desirable Qualifications: Experience in secondary education instruction in English language arts or reading
Experience teaching basic writing
Experience with curriculum design and assessment
