Brief Statement of Duties
Brief Statement of Duties: The Department of Psychological Science at Northern Michigan University invites applications for a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Clinical Psychology. The position will start in August, 2024.
The position requires teaching undergraduate and masters-level graduate courses related to areas of mental health and clinical psychology, such as Abnormal Psychology, Health Psychology, Psychological Assessment, Psychological Interventions, and Ethics. In addition, the position includes program certification activities, supervision and monitoring of graduate practicum experiences, developing a scholarly research program, and engaging in service.
The department hosts numerous well-equipped psychology laboratories in a highly supportive and collaborative environment. In addition, the department includes the Behavior Education Assessment and Research Center that provides clinical services to the community. This is a campus based position.
Minimum Qualifications
Required Education: Doctorate or equivalent terminal degree
Discipline / Degree Area: Psychology or closed related field.
Required Specialized Training/Certifications: Must be qualified to receive a Psychologist License in the State of Michigan.
Required Minimum Work Experience:  
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, or Attributes Required for Satisfactory Performance of the Position Duties: Ability to develop and teach psychology courses
Ability to advise students about the academic program and careers in psychology.
Ability to supervise practicum experiences
Ability to oversee program certification requirements
Ability to conduct scholarly research
Additional Desirable Qualifications
Additional Desirable Qualifications: -Level of experience teaching undergraduate and graduate psychology courses
-Quality of documentation supporting a positive record of advising and supervising students
-Level of experience arranging practicum sites for student placements
-Quality and quantity of published peer-reviewed research
