Brief Statement of Duties |

Develop and teach undergraduate courses and serve as the program coordinator for the Cannabis and Plant-Based Wellness Operations program. Topics include (but are not limited to): cannabis fundamentals, dispensary operations, dispensary regulations, fundamentals of natural wellness, applied natural wellness retail, and plant wellness customer service. Courses will be entirely online at the 100 and 200 level with a possibility of development and delivery of 300 and 400 level curricula.
Additional duties include student advising, career placement assistance, course and curriculum development, committee assignments, coordination with alumni and potential industry donors, applied research or other scholarly activities, membership in professional organizations, and application of technology in a learning environment. Collaboration with other programs (e.g., Indoor Agriculture, Controlled Environment Agriculture) is expected.
The position is campus-based (remote considered). |

Required Minimum Work Experience: |
Experience teaching plant-based wellness (credit-bearing or non-credit). Two years full-time equivalent work in a cannabis or plant wellness retail setting. Equivalent of 1 year full-time experience teaching online at the post-secondary level. |
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, or Attributes Required for Satisfactory Performance of the Position Duties: |
-Understanding of plant properties, uses, and effects. -Working knowledge of plant biology. -Understanding of legal issues related to cannabis and other medicinal plants. -Teaching and/or training experience at the university level. -Ability to develop new curriculum, write proposals, work on grants, etc. -Diplomatic, cooperative, and able to work well with various stakeholders. -Exceptional oral and written communication skills. -Understanding of the unique retail aspects of holistic and plant-based wellness, including cannabis. -Knowledge of customer service best practices as they relate to cannabis and other wellness plants. -Understanding of online course design and delivery. |

-Graduate degree in plant-related discipline (e.g., plant biology, horticulture), environmental science, business, or related discipline. -Experience managing a budget, program development and revisions, and program coordination. -Entrepreneurial business experience. -Experience in holistic and plant-based wellness industries, including cannabis. -Work and/or experience with indoor growing systems and associated technologies. -Doctorate or other terminal degree. -Ability to perform duties on campus. |
