Brief Statement of Duties
Brief Statement of Duties: Teach undergraduate lecture and lab courses in Cosmetology or Esthetics, assess student learning, and maintain lab equipment. This is a campus based position.
Minimum Qualifications
Required Education: High School Graduation or Equivalent
Discipline / Degree Area: Cosmetology or Esthetics
Required Specialized Training/Certifications: A Michigan Cosmetology Instructor License or Michigan Cosmetology Instructor Limited License.
Required Minimum Work Experience: Three years work experience in the cosmetology/salon industry.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, or Attributes Required for Satisfactory Performance of the Position Duties: -Strong knowledge base in cosmetology and esthetics as it relates to the industry.
-Knowledge of different learning styles.
-Ability to deliver instructional materials to students.
-Ability to assess student learning.
-Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing with peers and students.
-Current computer skills and familiar with the MS Office Suite.
-Ability to work effectively and productively with others.
-Ability to work with minimal supervision.
-Good time management skills.
Additional Desirable Qualifications
Additional Desirable Qualifications: -Bachelor's Degree in Cosmetology or related field.
-Active participation in related professional organizations.
-Appropriate credentials or certifications through recognized cosmetology associations.
-Previous teaching experience.
