The Department of Chemistry at Northern Michigan University is searching for an organic or bioorganic chemist. The appointment is for a three-year term position at the rank of Assistant Professor and is a campus-based position. Teaching assignments will include lectures and labs in organic chemistry for STEM majors and lectures for a survey course of organic and biochemistry for nursing students and other health professionals . Assignments may also include other courses dependent on departmental needs or candidate's expertise. As a term faculty position, an appropriate level of departmental service is also expected. The Department of Chemistry has nineteen full-time faculty and offers undergraduate degrees in ACS-certified chemistry, biochemistry, forensic biochemistry, and medicinal plant chemistry.
